Proof American Eagle Silver Coins have varying mintages based on the interest of collectors in any given year and the price of silver. The coins available in this listing are, however, the lowest minted ever in the history of the Proof American Silver Eagle. Still issued at the Philadelphia Mint at this point in history, the 1995 release included just 30,125 coins issued at the West Point Mint with a “W” mint mark in honor of the 10th anniversary of the series.
All of the 1995-W 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagle coins listed here come with a near-perfect certification from the PCGS. Coins in PR69 condition have full, original mint luster and no more than two minor detracting flaws present on the design elements or surface areas. Those flaws must be located outside of the primary focal points of the coin and are limited in nature to minuscule contact marks or hairlines.
Further, these rare Proof American Silver Eagles have a DCAM label. This stands for deep-cameo and refers to the deeply-mirrored, clear background fields and strong, frosted design elements present on the coins.
On the obverse side of each 1995 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagle is the image of Walking Liberty. Created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman, this vision depicts Liberty in left-profile relief walking toward the sun on the horizon with the American flag over her shoulders, branches of oak and laurel in her left hand, and her right hand reaching out for the sun.
The reverse face of the 1995-W 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagle Coin comes with the heraldic eagle of the United States. This historic design has been used in various versions on American coins dating back to 1792.
