A magnificent antique Russian guilloche enamel, silver, gold, and diamond locket necklace. Attributed to Faberge. The interior is fitted with two glazed miniature picture frames. The reverse of the front guilloche enamelled plaque is struck with 88 silver standard mark under a translucent green enamel. The plaque is also scratched with inscription in Russian “peach”. This inscription is referring to the colour of enamel and was scratched on the silver plaque before enamel was applied and baked. The back of the locket is stamped with 56 zolotniks assay mark with Greek small letter alpha for St. Petersburg 1908-1917 (worn mark). The chain is also struck with 1908-1917 St Petersburg assay mark, and 56 old Russian gold standard (14K – 583).
