In 2014, the Perth Mint introduced a three-coin series featuring 2 oz antique silver blanks with depictions of popular gods from ancient Greek mythology. This initial release featured three Olympians who were brothers: Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. In 2015, a similar three-coin series of 2 oz antique silver coins was issued with goddesses from Greek mythology. In that series, Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite were featured. Hades is depicted in the reverse field of the 2021 5 oz Antique Gods of Olympus Hades Silver Coin. This design shows Hades seated upon his throne as he leans forward resting his elbows on his knees. His three-headed hellhound is seated at his side. Hades was one of the three brothers who unseated the Titans as the rulers of the mythological world, destroying their own parents and taking control as Olympians residing atop Mount Olympus.
