Description
Pre-33 $5 Indian Gold Half Eagle Coin (Cleaned)
Please Note: These coins will be from years of our choice ranging from 1908-1929.
Of the seemingly countless coins produced by the US Mint, few others are as sought after as the Indian Head Gold Eagle. These particular coins have been professionally cleaned as to take away most blemishes that occurred during their time as heavily circulated legal tender. The coin was first produced in the early 1900s, but its design still provides inspiration for coins minted today. The unparalleled detail combined with its unusually high purity make the $5 Indian Head Gold Eagle a must-have for both collectors and investors. These coins do show some signs of use and age, but the fact that they have been cleaned makes them about as pristine as possible for coins that are so dated.
The Indian Head Gold Eagles were minted by the US Mint from 1908 until 1929 in 4 different US cities (Philadelphia, Denver, New Orleans, and San Francisco). Each coin weighs approximately one quarter ounce and is comprised of nearly .25 troy ounces of 90% pure gold. The obverse side of the coin features a regal Native American in full headdress. Encircling a majority of the obverse side are 13 stars meant to represent the 13 original colonies of the United States as well as a “liberty” inscription and an inscription marking the year in which the coin was minted. The coin’s reverse depicts a left-facing American eagle perched atop a fasces. An olive branch is also underneath the eagle’s perch. Inscriptions on the reverse side of the coin include the five dollar face value as well as the words “United States of America”, “E Pluribus Unum”, and “In God We Trust.”
Though the $5 Indian Head Gold Eagle coin has been off the US Mint production lines for almost 90 years now, these cleaned coins look as though they were just produced. While some coins are perfect for collectors and others are perfect for investors, these coins are sought after by both because of their unique design and high gold content. When you purchase this or any other coin from Omega Bullion, we will secure it and protect it for shipping. In addition, all of our packages are fully insured as a means of protecting you against loss or damage that may occur after the package leaves our hands and before it arrives in yours.
